EZ Lesson 24

'Staccato', is pretty much the opposite of Legato

The notes are played short, by lifting your fingers from the keys very quickly (imagine that they are very hot, and you don't want to keep your finger on them any longer than you have to! )

Notes that are to be played staccato, have a small dot placed either above, or below the note, depending on whether the stems point up or down.

Here is the piece you played in Lesson 18,
'Shortnin' Bread', but this time, we shall play most of the notes, Staccato style.

In the video, I will first play the piece without Staccato, and then I shall play it with Staccato, to illustrate the difference.
